How to “protect” the equipment in wet weather


When using equipment in wet weather, you need to do the relevant moisture protection work. If not, it may cause problems such as black screen of the equipment, failure start of the industrial computer, laser alarm, switch trip etc., which will affect production. First, measures to reduce indoor humidity:

1.Activated carbon moistureproof and dehumidification.

Activated carbon is used in many places. It is not only a good dehumidifying agent, but also purifies the air and removes odor. In wet weather, activated carbon moisture-proofing agent can reduce the workshop environment humidity and equipment failure probablity becasue of moisture.

2.Close the window, and do ventilation sometimes in sunny weather.

When raining or cloudy weather outside, do not open the window (especially the window facing south) to block the hot and humid airflow into the house. When it is sunny, selectively open the windows and ventilate (open windows not facing south) to reduce the indoor humidity.

3.Lime dehumidification.

According to the data, every 1 kg quicklime can absorb about 0.3 kg water in the air. Lime also can absorb moisture very well. If the room is wet and the ground is “watering”, you can place the quicklime in the bag, then put it in the workshop (wall corner) to achieve the effect of rapid dehumidification and drying.

4.Air-conditioner dehumidification.

When in wet weather, the effect of air-conditioner dehumidification is also very obvious. Turn on the air-conditioner to reduce the indoor environment humidity, which is good for the equipment stable operation.

Second, when water mist appears on the outside of the electric cabinet, do not start the machine immediately:

When the water mist appears, dry the water mist on the surface of the equipment first, then open the air-conditioner for half an hour(opening the dehumidification function), later turn on the equipment power, observe and ensure it runs stably.

Third, butter rust prevention, equipment maintenance.

When in wet weather, the indoor environment is relatively humid. Before working off, you can spray butter on the unpainted metal parts and key transmission parts to protect the equipment from rust and corrosion.

Fourth, regular inspection

Regularly check the drainage of air compressors, filter cores, and dryers, to avoid the risk of contamination of the cutting head lens and the machine tool gas pipeline due to the failure of the air compressor drainage function.
